Actually india already has some modals like Sarvam AI Models developed by Sarvam AI and the IIT Bombay-led BharatGen initiative but Yes, I think India needs more its own foundational AI models—not necessarily to compete with OpenAI or Google at the largest scale, but to build models that understand Indian languages, culture, businesses, and public infrastructure better.
The real opportunity is India-specific AI that is affordable, multilingual, and built for Indian users and developers.
